Yang Mulia Tuan dan Yang Mulia Tengku
Yang Mulia Tuan and Yang Mulia Tengku
Life in PPP/ITM hostel in Shah Alam was quite similar to boarding school. We still have time curfew (similarly to lights-off) i.e. the main gate will be closed by 11pm every night. Apart from that, we are free to use own motorcycle or car, provided having valid driving license.
There was once, we went out 'lepak'ing at our colleague's house. There were five of us. We went using one of our friend's father's car, a Mitsubishi Pajero. Back then, it felt as swanky as a Range Rover today.
We ended up losing track of time and rolled back to the hostel after 11 pm, close to midnight. The gate has already being locked, and a security guard (pak guard) stopped us as we approached.
As our friend, the driver, rolled down the window, all of us stayed silent, knowing we were in the wrong.
"Maaf encik. Kami terlambat."
"Dari mana?"
"Rumah kawan."
He then asked our friend his Student ID card.
My friend, the driver, handed over his card.
The pak guard read it slowly.
"Tuan Mohd Yusoff Shah bin Tuan ... A-Level 11 ... "
There was a silent.
Then he asked for the next friend in passenger seat.
He too handed it over and the pak guard read it slowly ..
"Tengku Roslan Tengku .... "
Again silent pause.
Then suddenly he said,
"Ok. Masuk .."
(we were like, "aaaaaaaaah thank god!")
He handed the IDs back and opened the gate for us.
Well.... i guess, the car, the names especially, really made it stood out. *Wink* 😉.
